How do I start my physical therapy with ProActive?
- Call your local ProActive office for a free physical therapy consultation or discuss with your doctor if physical therapy is right for you.
- Have your doctor write out a referral to ProActive Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy
- Call one of our locations for an appointment.
What will happen on my first visit?
- Your physical therapist will perform a evaluation that is designed to evaluate your condition and determine the contributing factors that are causing your pain.
- Establish a treatment plan and goals that both you and your therapist design together.
- Treatment will also take place on your first visit that is designed to give you an immediate relief from your pain.

What should I wear on my first visit?
- Wear loose fitting comfortable clothes and athletic type shoes. If you have a knee problem, please bring or wear shorts to each appointment.
How do I know if physical therapy will help me?

Our therapists are available for 20-30 minute consultations that will perform a comprehensive evaluation of your problem and discuss further treatments options. Our therapists will also discuss if physical therapy is appropriate for you and your condition.
How much does physical therapy cost?
- ur fees depend upon the procedures that are done on each of your visits and the amount of time spent at your physical therapy visit. Please feel free to discuss your individual charges with your therapist or the clinic's office manager.
How long will my physical therapy visits last?
- Treatments typically last from 45-90 minutes in length. The length of time spent at the clinic will depend upon the treatments that your therapist determines to be necessary.
Who determines where I can go for therapy?
- You choose where you can go for therapy. Many times your doctor will give you a referral for a particular clinic. But ultimately it is you that chooses where you can go for therapy. The referral you receive from your physical therapist can be used with any physical therapist.
Will my insurance cover physical therapy?
- We participate and are preferred with most insurance companies. Our office staff will determine your eligibility for physical therapy benefits before your first visit. We will call your insurance company for you and find out if you have a co-pay, deductible, other physical therapy benefits.
