Gresham Staff

Glen Akers, PTGlen Akers, PT

Owner, Physical Therapist

Glen Akers, PT is the Clinic Director at our Gresham office. Glen grew up in Gresham, OR and attended Gresham High School graduating in 1996. He attended Oregon State University earning a B.S. in General Science in 2000. Glen continued on to Texas Tech University and obtained a Masters degree in Physical Therapy in 2003.

Glen enjoys recreational activities such as bicycling and baseball. Glen is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the International Academy of Orthopedic Medicine. His interests include manual therapy and sports rehabilitation.

A little known fact about Glen is that Arizona State University offered him a full Scholarship for singing, but he turned it down to become a physical therapist.

Cliff Stanford, PTACliff Stanford, PT Assistant, CKTP

Physical Therapist Assistant, Director of Sports Medicine Outreach

Cliff grew up in Baton Rouge Louisiana where he attended Baker High School, graduating in 1988. He is a graduate of Mt. Hood Community College and received his Associates Degree of Applied Science in Physical Therapy in 1999.

Cliff practices physical therapy with a focus on functional rehabilitation having received training in therapeutic functional exercise and manual therapy and strives to help clients return to their previous level of activity whether that be be the athletic field, the warehouse or the classroom. He is also certified as a Kinesio Taping Practitioner utilizing the Kinesio Taping method to help reduce swelling and inflammation, decrease overuse of muscles and improve function.

Leading the Sports Medicine Outreach Program allows Cliff to be involved in community, working with our staff of Licensed and Certified Athletic Trainers as they provide on site injury assessment and prevention in area high schools and college athletic departments as well as local club sports programs.

Cliff is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (www.apta.org), Oregon Physical Therapy Association (www.opta.org) and Kinesio Taping Association, USA (www.kinesiotaping.com).

In his free time, Cliff enjoys spending time and attending church with his family, watching the Portland Trailblazers and New Orleans Saints. He also hosts a radio program that features music from artists from the northwest and has recorded and produced albums for independent release.

Alissa Gjelten, PT, DPTAlissa Gjelten, PT, DPT

Physical Therapist

Alissa Gjelten, PT, DPT was raised in the in the town of Chehalis, Washington and spent her undergrad at University of Portland where she majored in Life Science. She attended Pacific University and graduated with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2009.

A little known fact about Alissa is that she was a ballet dancer for many years, but never liked wearing the tutu. Alissa enjoys riding and competing with horses, hiking, hunting, and spending time with her new puppy.
